Buying on Sneaker Local
Your money is held from the moment you pay until you've had these shoes in your hands.
- 1You payYour card is charged and the money is held — the seller is paid none of it yet, and the shoes come off the market so nobody else can buy them.
- 2Courier label, or a meetFor a courier sale — the default — we buy the seller a tracked, prepaid overnight label, and they have 3 days to hand the parcel over. If the seller offers meeting in person and you take it, there's no label and no parcel: you two have a deadline to meet instead, shown on your order. Either way, if the handover doesn't happen in time your money comes back to you automatically and the sale is off.
- 3You get the shoesFrom the moment the courier marks it delivered you have 48 hours to open the box and look the shoes over properly. If you met in person instead, that window is shorter and it starts when the handover code is used — your order shows it.
- 4You're happyTell us they're what you expected and the seller is paid straight away — or say nothing, and they're paid automatically once your window runs out: 48 hours on a courier sale, shorter on a meetup.
- 5Something's wrongTell us before that window runs out — those 48 hours, or the shorter one after a meetup — and every clock on the order stops: nobody is paid anything until a person here has read both sides of it.
What we don't do
- Nobody here examines your shoes for you. The window after you get them — 48 hours on a courier sale, shorter when you meet in person — is the look that counts: if the pair isn't what the listing said, that's when you tell us.
- Courier is the default, and the tracked record it leaves is what a disagreement gets settled on. A meetup is available when a seller offers one — there is no carrier and no tracking then, so a disagreement is settled on the handover code, the messages between you, and whatever else you each have.
- The money is held by the company that processes your card — not by Sneaker Local, and not by the seller. It moves once: to the seller when you're happy or the window closes, or back to your card if the order is refunded.
